It’s been proven, scientifically — meditation changes your physiology and reverses many of the causes of illness. As a certified Chopra meditation instructor, this is the first thing I teach my students. People are always interested in how to change and improve their bodies — these meat suits that we embody in this life. It’s the place where tangible evidence of health problems shows up, but often, the problems begin in the nonphysical realm: the mind.

Meditation has so many benefits for the body. It can help reduce stress, reverse symptoms such as high blood pressure, and even slow the aging process. It clears the mind to the point that you are aware of who you are, why you’re here, and the fact that you should make healthy choices so you can be an effective person on this Earth. Physically, the benefits of staying calm are obvious. The mental benefits are what I am really interested in when I teach meditation.

When you have a healthy mind, you are balanced. Your desires come into full view and you start to want to make new choices. You want different things. The things that you want become aligned with the world around you and your own well-being. Naturally, you begin to make choices that are good for you.
