I’ll Tell You What True Love Really Is

True love isn’t just something for storybooks. It’s real. or, shall I say: It can be real. I’ve experienced it. And it’s not like it’s something that is suddenly created in the moment from your heart — it’s an act of remembering something that was buried deep within you but was there all along. It’s a remembrance and an awakening. It really happens to real people. It’s a miracle.

I experienced the deepest, most unimaginably whole love that my mind could ever conceive of in this lifetime. It was not long ago now. It unfolded so fast. And then the object of my love died, leaving me alone in this world. Does true love have to end in tragedy? I am not sure. But Romeo and Juliet now feel like they’ve become very familiar and understandable.

It occurred to me recently that most people don’t know what love is, and even fewer people know what true love is. So, I want to explain it. I want to inspire. I want to give you a reason to open your heart to hold out for hope.
