Once I was in an immigration visa interview where the Korean official asked me as part of the interview: do you cook and serve your husband? I was like, ‘no, he cooks very well and serves me.’ The official looked totally shocked. I’m surprised I even got the visa! Cultures are so different the world over and I think the most important thing is to go with what works for your family. Especially as an expat. Life is confusing sometimes!
