This article sums up my sentiments. If I submitted to these famous publications just to get approval, I’d be watering down my style as a writer. I refuse. From time to time I’ll send one to them as an afterthought instead of writing with the intention. But they always tell me they need scientific research and they don’t like narratives. Well, that kind of article sounds boring to me, no thanks. And you’re right, big publications get you just a few views because your article is quickly buried.
