This is a common question I get, and I have thought about it a lot. But karma is a real thing, and although we often deny this, we are each on our own soul journeys, and we need to work out some problems to clear out our karma, otherwise we are stuck in a cycle — in this life, or over many lives. The universe isn't random, it’s full of love. Any problem that seems horrible is an opportunity to learn and grow. No one really dies, so the people being murdered aren’t gone, but what was the purpose of the things happening to them? That’s what I try to get at. If a child is raped, what need did humanity have for this story in its woven tapestry? We all have many opportunities to rise above our karma. Staying in a “poverty mindset” will not help you, it’s much better to focus on gratitude for all the beautiful things we all have.
